Lexie woke up this morning, and I went to nurse her, while nursing, Kevin left for the day. As I was with Lexie, I could hear Halli walking around, and knew she should still be asleep, so as soon as I was done with Lexie I went up to Halli's room to make sure she was alright and going back to bed. When I got back to my room Lexie was awake again, So I went back to try to get her to sleep again. I laid her down and went to go get back in bed, but when I got out of Lexies "room" I heard Peyton screaming. So, I ran up there and she said she went poopy, althought it was actually pee (it's been hurting her lately to pee, guess I need to look into that, but there is no fever so I don't think it's a UTI, but I could be wrong). Anywhoo....she wouldn't go back into her crib, so I brought her to bed with me, and I couldn't wait to lay down! except, when we got there Lexie was awake, AGAIN! So I laid peyton in the bed and put Lexie to sleep for the third time in twenty minutes. I finally got to lay down for 15 more minutes before it was time to get up for the day. All this happened before 6:30 this morning! So in honor of this great wake up call of mine, I will officially say goodbye to sleep for the next 15 years or so.
ODE TO SLEEP
Goodbye sleep, I will relish those long forgotten days of sleeping till noon, and relaxing in your comfort. I will miss the hours lost in pleasant dreams and incoherent talk. I will long for the day when we will meet again. I know it may be long, but I will perservere until I get there. I will not let you down! and I promise to take any and every opportunity I can to visit, no matter how short it may be. Goodbye my dear friend, and may those who have you in their lives realize how blessed they truly are!

huh?
baaahahaha... Me and sleep we are tight!! When I visit sleep I will say his for you!
Glad the girls can be your alarm clock. It just goes off a little early.
HaHaHaHaHaHa, LOL.....Where is grandma when you need her?
"And this too shall pass". Still LOL. SOrry, I should be more sensitive, but I can't. LOL :)
LOL. You are really making me want to have another. :) I LOVE the ode to sleep. That is exactly how I feel. :)
P.S. I would take Peyton to the doctor. My little sister had a UTI that my mom didn't detect until it had already hurt her kidneys(no fever). She only has one kidney now.
I love how sensitive you all are to my little situation!:) Britt, don't laugh too hard, some day this will be you! and Kate, thanks for the info, I didn't know you could have one and not have a fever, I'll make an appt for her!
Ha! You just made my whole afternoon! :) Oh, how true it is! How nice it was, in Cancun, for one whole week to sleep ALL NIGHT long and to sleep in! However, those days are now gone until next year's vacation. :)
So glad you're back, and I'm glad you got some good sleep! Hope the girls aren't too clingy for ya now that you're home!
See, I knew there was a plus side that we didn't have kids yet. I really enjoy my sleeping. It'll be a sad day when I have to miss out on even an hour of it.
It is great to keep in touch a little. I hear you on the sleep thing so don't think you are the only one.
i think that is one of the hardest things about parenthood- lack of sleep. so many problems stem from this one thing. if we could all just get 10 hours a night, okay even 6 straight hours, we'd all be so happy!
I can so relate. If only we could help our kids understand how valuable sleep is - and that one day they will wish they could have more - then maybe we could solve the sleep problems of the world. Maybe?!?
Sorry the girls weren't cooperative. It's always the worst when dad is gone because there is no one to tag-team with.
All I can say is, you are the nicest sleep deprived person ever! You never seem grumpy, even after a rough morning like that! You wouldn't even know your girls are little roosters by looking at you. You always look great with no bags under your eyes at all!
Hey April--
That is a rough morning! When I have had mornings just like the one you described...I have thought to myself...why even bother going back to bed. But it is like there is a tractor beam that just sucks right in! I feel your pain girl!
BTW, I love your cute Halloween decorations! You are seriously talented.
Love,
mindy
I love your ode! I am just starting to rekindle a better relationship with sleep! How I long for it too!! :) On the UTI note, Elise gets them and we have found apple cider vinegar applied topically (like with a washcloth) gets rid of it if we catch it early. It is smelly though. I hope that isn't TMI (?) ;)
Are things back to normal around you after the hurricane? I have wondered about you.
