We're off!!

I was all set to fly out to St. George to meet up with my family and hang out for the weekend without kiddos, except Lexie of course, when Ike hit. This in turn created ALOT of work for Kevin and his brothers, so he's been working alot this past week. Because of this, and the fact that he was supposed to watch Halli & Peyton while I was gone, we've added the other two girlies to our vacation posse, and extended our trip.

We're off tomorrow and I've got to say, I'm a little nervous. I've got a three hour flight ahead of me and three kiddos to keep entertained and happy! There is one spot of good news though, a wonderful lady in our ward happens to be on the flight. She has been my babysitter every Sunday, cuddling Lexie while I take care of primary stuff, so I know she'll be a HUGE help, and I'm so grateful for that!

I'll let ya'll know how it went, assuming we all make it in one piece.

What is it with girls and their Mommy's make-up?

Do I get to look forward to this with all of our girls? Fun times for us! I caught Peyton doing it this morning, and finally got a picture, it's definitly not her first time!

Halli, 2005 in Durango, doing her make-up. You can't see it, but it was ALL over the floor too!

Peyton, this morning with the eyeliner, isn't she beautiful?

This has nothing to do with make-up, but this was the sunset the night Ike hit, it was beautiful, I guess it's the calm before the storm.

We Survived!

Ike came through last friday evening. we all hunkered down in our room to ride out the storm. The girls did alright for the most part. Lexie slept till 4am, and the power went off as I was feeding her, and it kept her from going back to sleep so I held her from that point on through the night. Peyton was up alot, the wind was scaring her and Halli slept through most of it. I have never been through anything like that in my life! about 6am is when they say the eye wall was hitting us, and it was terrifying for me. I was sure the glass was just going to shatter, every time a big gust hit, the glass would rattle, I don't know how it was able to hold up, but it did.

Because I was holding Lexie, I was sitting up in bed and we don't have a headboard, so when the big gusts would hit, I could feel the wall shaking behind me. I can't imagine what it was like for people even closer to the coast. I was so glad when it started getting light, it just didn't seem quite so scary then.

Once we were able to get out of the house, we headed over to my inlaws house, as they have a generator and their fridges worked and a couple rooms had air conditioning. we slept there for two nights, and were very blessed to have our power on by monday evening. Most of houston is still without power, so we are VERY lucky. It's been one interesting ride, and it's crazy seeing all the devistation this storm caused, and we didn't even have as much here as they had down south.

Its still hard to find milk and meat, most stores don't have power yet, although some do, but they run out of groceries very quickly. We went to Walmart yesterday, and the shelves were practically wiped clean. We were able to get a few things, but I'm curious as to how long it will be before things get back to normal.

All-in-all, we are doing great, but I hope it's a VERY long time before we go through anything like this again!

I didn't take alot of pictures but we have video of some of what we saw.

Happy Birthday Pee-Wee!

We celebrated Peyton's birthday a day early and had some family & friends over for cake & ice cream. She didn't really know what was going on, but had tons of fun anyways. Peyton is such a crack-up right now and it's amazing what being two can do to a kid. She can go from happy to sad and back to happy in an instant. She's also starting to talk more which is tons of fun, unless she's telling us to "stop it!" which she says quite often, especially if you start singing, she doesn't like that. She LOVES her big sister and always wants to know where Halli is and what she's doing. I had a hard time knowing what to get her for her birthday, cause she really likes whatever Halli has at the moment.

Sometimes she can get a little lost in the mix, with Halli doing everything first and having lots going on, and Lexie being a sweet baby that we not only adore, but who requires alot of my time. I really want Peyton to know how special she is, and how much we love her! She is an independent girl that really knows what she wants, usually we love that about her!

waiting for us to sing...look at that smile, what a cutie!

While we were singing, doesn't she look excited?

This is classic! she wore the glasses and carried around the purse the whole night and kept telling us "bye, bye" cause she had her car keys and was ready to go. Later she grabbed Duece and was going to take her with her.

Here they are!

Introducing our newest family members! The girls adore them and they aren't so sure about the girls, but are warming up to them slowly. I'm lucky I married a cat guy, I think Kevin is enjoying having them here more than the girls are!:)

This is Cheetah, and she is Halli's kitty.

And this is Duece, she's Peytons and is a little more playful and less timid than her sister.

Here they are together, fighting like cats! They love to fight/play with each other and it is very interesting to watch. We Love our new little additions and are excited that they're finally here!

We have an announcement!

Well, It may seem a little soon, but Kevin has decided that being surrounded by us four girls just isn't enough, and we've added not one, but two more little girlies to the mix....at least that's what we think they are, couldn't get a really good look yet! Wish us luck on this new adventure, it's sure to be interesting! I'll add some pictures of the cuties as soon as I can get to it!
