Ike came through last friday evening. we all hunkered down in our room to ride out the storm. The girls did alright for the most part. Lexie slept till 4am, and the power went off as I was feeding her, and it kept her from going back to sleep so I held her from that point on through the night. Peyton was up alot, the wind was scaring her and Halli slept through most of it. I have never been through anything like that in my life! about 6am is when they say the eye wall was hitting us, and it was terrifying for me. I was sure the glass was just going to shatter, every time a big gust hit, the glass would rattle, I don't know how it was able to hold up, but it did.
Because I was holding Lexie, I was sitting up in bed and we don't have a headboard, so when the big gusts would hit, I could feel the wall shaking behind me. I can't imagine what it was like for people even closer to the coast. I was so glad when it started getting light, it just didn't seem quite so scary then.
Once we were able to get out of the house, we headed over to my inlaws house, as they have a generator and their fridges worked and a couple rooms had air conditioning. we slept there for two nights, and were very blessed to have our power on by monday evening. Most of houston is still without power, so we are VERY lucky. It's been one interesting ride, and it's crazy seeing all the devistation this storm caused, and we didn't even have as much here as they had down south.
Its still hard to find milk and meat, most stores don't have power yet, although some do, but they run out of groceries very quickly. We went to Walmart yesterday, and the shelves were practically wiped clean. We were able to get a few things, but I'm curious as to how long it will be before things get back to normal.
All-in-all, we are doing great, but I hope it's a VERY long time before we go through anything like this again!
I didn't take alot of pictures but we have video of some of what we saw.

It's so amazing that your home is ok and that you didn't have any flooding. Hopefully Houston will be back to normal soon.
Now you can say that you've been through a major hurricane. I'm sure it was so so so scary. Thanks for the pics. Hopefully the stores will be up and running soon.
I'm glad you guys are all ok and that your power is back on. Kids and a lack of power dont' go well together. That's good that you had someplace to go. Take care!
Sooooo scary!!! I am very glad that you are all alright. I hope everything gets back to normal soon in Houston. You are still coming to St. George, right?
We are glad to hear your family is all right! What a crazy experience. Aren't we so blessed to have counsel about preparedness?! I hope it all gets back to normal for everyone soon. :)
Sounds scary! Glad you guys are all ok! And that it will be a long time till you have to experience that again!!
