So, Here's how it went.

So on wednesday I was having contractions all day, they weren't really consistant, but generally around 10 minutes apart, and they were getting slightly stronger. But I started to think it was false labor cause they weren't progressing. We put peyton down for a nap at 1, and the Monsons took Halli for a playdate in the woodlands, and then we were going to head in. Right around then the hospital called me in anyway to be induced, since they had canceled earlier that morning.

We got to the hospital at 2:00, I was a 4-5 already and they broke my water and started the pitocin at 3:15. I got the epidural at 5:00ish and then things were smooth sailing. At 6:00 the doctor came in and checked me again and I was at a 6. He is moving monday so he said he had to run home and get something done but he would only be an hour and a half, and I shouldn't be done by then. So I laid down and relaxed. I could feel a little pressure but the anesthesiologist said I would so I didn't think about it. Well at 6:45, I felt alot of pressure and realized that I was ready to push....a little quicker than an hour and a half. The nurses came in and I was instructed to fight the urge....do you know how hard that is? This was the worst part of the labor! They called the doctor and he said he was 15 minutes away. So I did the best I could and squeezed the life out of kevins hand while we waited for him to get there. Once he showed up I pushed about 5 times and our little girl was born!

She has been a fairly good baby up until last night. We were up pretty much from 12:00 to 7:00 with maybe an hour of sleep. Around 5:30 when she was screaming, I looked in her mouth and saw HUGE blisters at the back of her throat. We went to the doctor this morning and it turns out our 4 day old little girl has foot, hand, mouth disease. I guess we're lucky it's only in her throat and she doesn't have a fever with it, but she is having a really bad day, and we are not looking forward to tonight. As far as I know the other girls don't have it, and I have no idea where she could have got it from. For now tylenol will be our friend and hopefully once this clears up she'll be sleeping a little bit better. Ah, the joys of parenthood, you forget just how tiring it is with a new baby in the house.

Lexie Mikayla

Just a quick note to let you all know that our baby girl has finally arrived. She was born on June 25 at 7:14pm and was 8lbs 15.7oz (only .1oz bigger than Halli was) and she was 20.5in long. Everything went very well, and it was a fairly quick labor and delivery. She is doing great and her big sisters absolutely adore her. I laid her on the floor this morning and they both laid down next to her and were giving her kisses. She is a lucky girl to have such great big sisters. We are all doing great and just look forward to spending more time together!

I wanted to post this picture, just because it is the first picture I've ever had in the hospital where my face didn't look all swollen and my eyes all squinty. I can't believe I actually look somewhat normal! :)

If I get a chance to take some better pictures I'll post them. But she looks alot like Halli did when she was a baby.

They Postponed

So at 4:00 this morning, the hospital called and said they didn't have anymore post-partum rooms available, so they postponed the induction. It's all good though...my contractions have been pretty regular, and I'm thinking we'll be heading up there by noon to have this baby anyway! (I probably shouldn't say that, I'll just jinx myself). Keep your fingers crossed for me!

Come out, come out wherever you are!!!

Thats right, tomorrow at 5:30am I will be in the hospital to be induced. The funny thing is that I've started having pretty consistent contractions this evening, so hopefully they won't have to do pitocin and we'll be well on our way to meeting our baby by then (I have long labors, so I don't think she'll actually be here yet, but hopefully we'll be close). I'm very excited that this little phase is over and we'll soon be moving on to a very different phase with a new member of our family. Wish me luck and the next time you hear from me I'll have pictures of our beautiful new baby girl!

Happy Anniversary!

Six years ago today, I married the man of my dreams! It has been a wonderful and fulfilling six years, although sometimes, it seems like it's been longer, I feel like we've been together forever and started this whole brand-new life that is just ours.

There has always been something about Kevin that has drawn me to him. He has always known how to make me smile and laugh. He's this wonderful mixture of someone who is so smart and intelligent, when he didn't play basketball for one year, thus missing out on an athletic scholarship, he was able to get an academic one. Not many athletes can say that, I know I couldn't. Yet at the same time, he is playful and will always bring out the kid in you if you let him.

Throughout the last six years, we have been incredibly blessed. We've had many up's (Our wonderful children, Great jobs, New homes, great vacations, good health) and have been very blessed to not experience too many downs in our young lives together (a couple surgeries, a febrile seizure when Halli was 20 months old, a car accident). I know some day that may change, but there is no one I would rather have by my side than him should we be dealt anything I can't handle.

So to commemorate our lives together thus far, I've put together a few photos of our time together. Starting with our wedding day, it was beautiful and perfect as far as I'm concerned. The only thing I would have changed is that I would have eaten some of the great food (so I've been told) at the reception. But I think alot of brides miss out on that one too.

Our most recent trip just last month to Myrtle beach. We love the beach and We love having our photos taken there as you can see. We have had lots of fun together, and I hope we will continue to long into our lives. I plan on being with this amazing man for eternity, I just hope he can put up with me that long!:)

Spa Day

So, It's going to become a tradition that whenever I'm having a baby, I'm going to get a pedicure on my due date. I did it with Peyton, and today, my due date, Halli and I visited the spa. Thanks a bunch to Aunties Jamie and Jessica for a great gift of a pedicure I was able to relax and have some pampering done. Halli was able to join me for her first experience at a spa and she was pretty mesmerized by it. We didn't get to go at the same time, so as she was watching me get my pedicure she kept asking if everything hurt, I think she was a little afraid that it would. But after she was done and I asked if anything hurt, she said no, that it just tickled a little bit. It was alot of fun to have the chance to do this with my oldest little girl, and I have the feeling I'll be doing it fairly often considering the estrogen we're going to have in our home. They even did Halli's nails for free just cause the beautician thought she was such a cutie!:)

I love the view Halli must always have of me, isn't it so attractive? and you should all feel lucky to get a close up of my swollen feet, they're just so pretty! at least they are somewhat prettier than they were this morning.

Water fun

Being in Houston, you can't go through the summer without numerous visits to the pool. At the beginning of this summer, Halli wouldn't enter the water without her floaties. But thanks to some help from her good friend Blake, she has braved the water and learned how to swim, kinda. She can get around as long as she doesn't have to go too far without having something to hang onto. Well, She has come a long way, as evidenced by these photos. Here is our new swimmer doing full flips into the pool, and she LOVES it! Grandma Jackson got these great photos of our little daredevil flying through the air. It's going to be a fun summer in the water....and we'll be there everyday if this baby won't come out, it's the only place I can get some relief!

NO BABY!!!!

Thats right, If you'll take a look to the right of my blog and see my baby counter, it says 0 days, well, unless a miracle happens today, ITS WRONG! I am no longer trying to be positive about being pregnant, I'm through, but apparently she isn't. I am tempted to try castor oil at this point, it's sitting on the counter in my kitchen, but I don't know if I dare do it. If you know of any sure fire ways to evict a child from your womb, without techinically being induced, please let me know. I know there really aren't any, but I'm willing try just about anything. The good thing is my mom showed up on wednesday, so I've had a little help with the girls and keeping them entertained, which was getting to be difficult. I'm very ready to meet this little girl, so wish me luck, who knows just how much longer I have.

PS - the baby in the picture on the countdown has WAY too much room. I know there isn't that much room in there for Lexie, You'd think she'd be uncomfortable with no space to move, but I guess not.

Pregnant Together

We have all resigned ourselves to the fact that Lexie just won't ever come out. So the girls decided it was fun to be pregnant and decided they would try it themselves, with their own baby dolls. I asked Halli if she could still touch her toes and she easily did it, lucky girl, I haven't been able to for months! Really, we don't want to see this sight for a long time, but I wish I looked as cute "pregnant" as they do! :)

Curiouser & Curiouser

I know most kids start asking "why" all the time around three years of age. Well, Halli never really did that, at least not to the point that it stood out to me. But here we are at almost 5, and this girl is so curious about some very odd topics.

Some of the odd things she has been wondering about as of late:

Where do the Angels live?
What do Angels look like?
Are Angels and Fairy's the same thing?
Where does the Tooth Fairy live?
What does Heaven look like? (then she said she already knew, cause she saw a picture at grandma's house, and that's what heaven looked like.)
How does Ariel breath under water?
Who will Sydney marry? (Sydney is Blakes cousin and Halli is afraid she'll try to marry Blake. That would be bad as far as Halli is concerned, cause she is going to marry Blake.)
Why does santa come down the chimney?
How do our bodies move?
There was a storm the other day and the lights kept flickering, so she asked How the power would go out, and why?


I have to say I'm getting better at explaining things. But every time she asks a question, I'm kinda taken aback and just how inquisitive she is. It's amazing to see those little minds at work trying to figure out the world around them.

Book of the day

In an effort to stave off summer boredom, which Halli already has, as she has told me more than once that we have a boring house, I'm starting a book of the day. I saw this on someone else's blog, they would read one book that day and then do a craft that went with the book. I thought that looked fun and fairly easy to do, so we started today and our first book was "Ten little ladybugs." Then we made our own ladybug hats with antenna. The girls both enjoyed this, and I think Peytons favorite part was the glue and then tearing her hat apart after we took pictures. Oh well, at least it kept them happy and occupied for a little while.

Reading together. Halli has always been a bookworm and reading is one of her favorite things to do. Peyton on the other hand is just starting to be interested in books. I have always loved to read as well and hope this is something the girls can learn to love and enjoy doing forever.

little things from the Williams household

I haven't posted much about the girls lately, but they are doing wonderfully so I thought I might add a little about whats been going on at our house the past week. Nothing out of the ordinary, and life has been pretty mellow, but the girls are so cute and I'm enjoying not running them around everywhere and being able to just hang out with them a little bit before life gets hectic with a new baby.

The other day I ran to the grocery store really quick while Kevin watched the girls, and when I got home, Peyton came running up to me happy as could be, and this is what I saw...

She loves to color on herself. Not so much on paper or on other objects, but she LOVES to color on her legs, hands and arms. This was the first time she'd used her face as the backdrop.

We were out riding bikes the other day and Halli's training wheel wasn't tight enough which caused her to fall a couple times before we figured out the problem. Well, Peyton must have thought that falling looked fun, cause she got off her tricycle, pushed it over, which is what she's doing in the above picture, and then she sits on the ground like she just fell. She never did fall off, just tried to make it look like she did. Where do they come up with these things?

While they were riding bikes, Kevin rode around on his scooter with them and he thought it would be funny to keep "running into" peyton, well, she didn't like it. This is a picture of her lecturing her Daddy for not giving her enough space. She is one demanding little girl.

And lastly, Here's a picture of the girls just having fun. Halli is loving being the boss most of the time and Peyton will follow her almost anywhere and she wants to do everything her big sis does. It is very cute to watch. In fact, check out my sister-in-laws blog, (eric & Jill, sorry I ahve no idea how to link things, guess I'll have to learn soon), She has a video posted of the girls swimming this weekend and Peyton is trying to do everything Halli does. It's so cute!

So not a whole lot happening, but thats the girls, they keep life fun and interesting, even when they're not doing too much. Gotta love 'em.

Unsolicited Advice

Now that preschool is over for Halli, I no longer have the leisure of going shopping with only one little duckling following me. (I call them my ducklings cause no matter where I go, it seems I always have two little girls following me, I'm sure many of you can relate.)

Well, now that she is usually with me, and since my belly has grown quite large recently, I tend to get quite a few comments. "You've been busy", is a fairly common one, as is..."Were ya trying for a boy?" anything along the lines of trying for a boy seem to be the most common. After which I inform them of our third little girl. This is when the unsolicited advice happens.

Just today I was at Target and an older lady asked if I had read any of the books that tell you how to get one gender over the other. I said I've read a few things, after which she proceeds to tell me, in the middle of the store, what to do.

This may not really seem too odd, until you think about the fact that a TOTAL STRANGER is telling me to use douches and that frequency in my sex life matters.....in the middle of Target! This has happened more than once. I suppose that after all this wonderful advice I'm receiving, if our next is a girl then we just don't know what we're doing! ya gotta love people that just feel the need to let you know how things are!

The Art of Expecting

Since I only have a little over two weeks till Lexie arrives, at least I pray it is no longer than that, I thought it may be a good time to ponder the things I appreciate or enjoy about being pregnant. It is very easy at the end to dwell on how miserable everything has become, from the heartburn to the fatigue that hits whenever I do anything.

Okay, on to the good stuff, the number one greatest thing about being pregnant is feeling your baby move inside you. Especially at the end when it's not necessarily kicks your feeling, but you can actually see little protrusions in your belly when they stick an elbow or foot into your side. At night I just love to sit there and feel her move and put my hand on my belly to feel her little body parts, it is just such a comforting feeling.

Being able to take a break from everything in the middle of the day and not feel guilty about it, cause I really and honestly just need to sit down for a little and veg. The girls don't necessarily love it, but they tolerate it pretty well.

Although I know I shouldn't, Eating whatever I want is great. Heaven knows I can't lose weight right now, so why even bother? I will enjoy a whole box of cookies. I know I'll pay for it once I want the weight gone, but for now it sure makes the aches and pains go away, at least temporarily. Unfortunately this is one thing heartburn has taken away from me, when I eat sweets at night, I have massive acid reflux and can't sleep, so I have stopped that ritual, at least for the time being.

I would really LOVE to add foot massages from my hubby to this space right here, but he detests feet and refuses to touch them. He has done it once this pregnancy, but I had to BEG him to do it. (I'm hoping he'll read this and feel guilted into offering me one last foot massage at some point in the near future). I do think I've spoiled him too much by having easy pregnancies, so he hasn't had to do too much to cater to me.:)

I'm sure there are a few other things I could add, but I may be up all night trying to think of them. Maybe I'll do another post of the things I look forward to after she's born, but that could be a VERY long list. Until then, I'll try to think of more things that I enjoy and that I just might miss in a few weeks after our little girl arrives. Wish me luck and feel free to send lots of labor dust my way in hopes of bringing Lexie out soon!
