So much to do, so little time

The past few weeks have been BUSY to say the least. My brother and his wife are blessing their baby this weekend, so there's family coming to town (actually, half of them are here, and the other half are on their way here from the airport as we speak, yeah!). So we've been getting the house ready for a few visitors.

In the meantime, life's been busy with the same old stuff, you know, the stuff we love, but don't always remember cause it's mundane, well, here's some of the busy stuff that I love.

Lexie's been torturing the cats. Especially this one. She's in heat, and when cat's are in heat they want to be around people, so it won't run away from Lexie, which she LOVES!

Peyton has been very busy as well. She's started a new home preschool once a week, goes to playgroup with grandma once a week, and got to go to bring a friend day at her cousins gymnastics class. More on this later, she had a blast, and is sad we're not signing her up.

I've been missing Halli lately. School is in full swing, and I feel like I never see her anymore. But I love that when I do see her, I get notice of all the fun stuff going on at school, like 50's day. So last night I just threw together this fun poodle skirt so she could wear it to school today, (Okay, I could only throw it together so easily because I had my lovely mother here to guide me through it.) It really was easy, but had she not been here, I would have made it much more difficult for myself.

This last tuesday my sisters-in-law and I threw a fun "lil' pumpkin" baby shower for our other sister-in-law Jessica, who is due with her first boy in december. Much more on this later, I know, you're excited!:)

And last, but certainly not least, our biggest project of all. A master bedroom makeover! I made it really easy for myself by kicking Kevin out, so he didn't get to see it till it was done. I know what you're thinking, I did a beadboard ceiling all by myself, I'm amazing!:) But no, we have the most amazing friends, and I borrowed my best friends hubby for a few nights, and he basically did it all, while Allie and I watched the kiddos, and Kevin got to make a million trips to home depot, and occasionally one of us girls would go help Sean hold up a piece of molding. I love the room though, it's by far my favorite place in the house!

I'm sure I'll have much more on this later too, once I can take some better pictures of it. By the way, this photo was for my photography class too, we're supposed to keep the camera by the bed and take a couple pictures first thing in the morning, with morning light. Hence the messy bed.

We've been busy, and loving every minute of it. Once the baby blessing is done, and family heads out, I'll be back, but till then, this is a short update on all we've been up to, and I'm off to chill with the fam!

The room looks soooo good! I HAVE to come down and see the finished product in person once life returns back to normal for you! You really have been busy, and you never cease to amaze me with your talent and creativity in everything you do. Oh man, if only you could rub off on me! Sean had a lot of fun working on the room, and you can borrow him anytime! It was actually a fun excuse to hang out at night all week instead of being responsible parents on school nights! Halli looked adorable today, she just keeps getting prettier all the time! Have fun with the fam!

Your bedroom looks awesome. And so is that poodle skirt. Shyanne wanted to dress 50's as well but I'm not quite that talented as you are.

I can't wait to come see the room! How fun to have your room be your favorite- for us it's the most neglected! And I guess I'm not prepared for kids giving me last minute notice on school activities- there's no way I could "throw together" anything! Good job April!
