Quiet moments with kids

So, these last few days have been a little trying in our home. I have had little patience with my girls, meaning Halli for the most part, and she has definitely been trying her darndest to test my patience. There have been moments where I have not felt like a good mom, nor have I felt like entertaining my children, which probably leads to the times when I get upset cause they won't listen. Then today I was online and saw some ideas for kids, I don't know why it didn't occur to me before, but I asked Halli if she wanted to play beauty parlor, and of course, she did. She was just entertained for almost an hour, and I actually got to read my book! What a great idea, I can't believe I hadn't thought of it before! (Peyton was sleeping during this time, and actually still is!) So, here are some pictures of Halli's masterpiece. It was really nice to have some quiet time with her not watching television, and hearing her talk about how excited she was and how beautiful it was going to be when it was done. I have to say, I'm quite impressed with just how well she did, and I feel like a princess, that has every bow and ribbon that we own in my hair!

Halli's creation, she took the picture too, and did a pretty good job if I do say so myself.
The back side, She really went to work there.

Me and the artist herself!

Ok ..I am glad that I am not the only one that has those days! :) Your hair looks great. Hailee loves to play that, but I have a hard time because I have such a sensitive head!

Amen sista! I think I am a horrible mom 6/7 days of the week! But we all survive. I think I might ask cam to play beauty parlor tomorrow morning after coming home from my night shift. (I hope he goes for it....good idea) I am excited about your new baby! If Kevin needs a boy, you can borrow cameron any time.....I just need him back. :) I miss you!

You are a great mom April! Sometimes we, as moms are just too hard on ourselves. Being a mom is VERY hard work and sometimes finding things for the kids to do everyday is one of the hardest parts. :) Cute idea with the beauty salon...I'll have to use that one when S & K get a little older. Hope your day is better today!

Oh how we wish for time to ourselves, but then we'd miss moments like this. Enjoy.

PS You're a fantastic mom...You've taught me alot.
